The Anthropological Museum and the Doigahama Dome are located in Houhoku-cho, which is in the north west of Yamaguchi Prefecture. Houhoku-cho lies on the coast, adjacent to the Sea of Japan, and it is here that you can find Doigahama Beach. In summer this beach is a firm favourite with holidaymakers and was voted as being one of the best 55 bathing beaches in Japan.
The museum can be easily reached by car. To approach from Shimonoseki or Kitakyushu, just head north towards Doigahama on Route 191. If you are coming from the Hiroshima district, take the Chugoku Highway and exit at Mine or Ozuki. After this, go north on Route 435 and prefectural road 39.

To get to us by train, the nearest JR stations are Nagatofutami and Takibe. From Nagatofutami Station take the bus to Doighama. From Takibe Station, it's best to take a taxi.
